Zane Penn

Biography

Zane Penn is one of Newcastle's most talented young performers, and with experience playing almost anywhere from niteclubs and pubs to cruise ships and parties, he has the ability to work just about any crowd.

Hailing from Queensland's sunny Gold Coast Zane eventually flew south to a cooler clime, and has been hotting up Newcastle venues ever since. A talented lead guitarist with personality plus, Zane is the ideal performer for your function or venue.

The past 6 months have seen Zane Penn playing from Northern Europe to the Middle East.

Starting off in August last year Zane was the guest star at the Nordenham Stadtfest (festival) in Germany. Nordenham is two hours west of Hamburg the famous music city of the 60’s where band’s such the Beatles honed their craft. There he played a guest spot set with the German party band Primetime, to an excited crowd of 20 000 people.

Zane also played an Australia Day gig with his brother Ty in Dubai. The gig at the 5 star Le Meridian was quite the affair with over 200 hundred tickets sold for the equivalent of $AU200.00/head. Invited special guests included the Australian consulate for Dubai among others.

The Dubai show consisted of 100% Australian material containing everything from as early as the Bee Gees first hit Spicks and Specks through classic, Cold Chisel, Men At Work and Gangagang pub rock up to modern Oz rock tunes from bands like Powderfinger. “You new there were Aussies in the audience when there in the middle of the U.A.E. you heard the cries of ‘Barnsey’ being requested”.

“It was a great gig and a great experience, I was treated like a King for the week and probably put on 2kg’s as the food and service was exceptional”.
